Walking the Line
Walking the Line is a short documentary that follows Ryan Huerta, a formerly incarcerated youth navigating life after prison, with the support of Underground GRIT, an Orange County-based non-profit founded by Suzanne Campbell and Crystal Guerra. As Ryan seeks community and healing, he struggles to break free from the pull of the gang life and start a new future. Through his story, the film offers an intimate portrait of rehabilitation, resilience, and the urgent need for second chances.
Dogshit
Upon the rapid urbanization of Chiang Mai, the growing tension between older generations who value uniformity and the urban youth who crave individuality comes to a conflicting intersection. The skateboarders of Chang Mai, specifically those in the group “Dogshit Local,” show what it’s like to live in a changing culture. This subgroup has fought for recognition amid disapproving parents and a cultural attitude that labels them delinquents. As the group continues to grow, they face internal and external conflicts that prevent them from their ultimate goal–carving a space where skaters belong in Chang Mai.

The Brown and Beatific Face of Ishrat Zahan explores one young Bengali woman’s journey with make-up and how she uses the skills she has to maneuver the microaggressions and racially charged experiences that come with being a woman of color in America. This film highlights the intersection between sexism and racism by showcasing the role of utility that beauty plays in Zahan’s life and how the manipulation of the commodity of beauty is sadly essential to surviving in a Eurocentric society.
